The bulb is giant–so big that they looked at it suspiciously at the Chicago Art Institute when I stopped there after the Flower Show. Then they invoked some obscure rule involving foodstuffs and agricultural goods, and wouldn’t allow me to check it in the coatroom. I
This spectacular complex by SAOTA Architecture is located on Lake Geneva, Switzerland. It consists of a home and an office which are connected with an underground oasis of art and entertainment. The dramatic main part house is built up of rounded cubes and triangular masses, forming an L shaped living space. The interior is a classical Scandinavian cozy living space in cream and sand tones with beautiful art objects like a colorful six foot painting by Francoise Nielly and a horse statue. The house is very cozy despite of glass walls and high ceilings. There is also an underground part in the house featuring a spa, sauna, pool and cinema. Such a house is a real paradise where you can work, live and entertain as you like.

The Drunken Botanist is the working title of my new book, which should be out in 2013 if I can stop mixing drinks long enough to get it written.

It also features a sophisticated home automation system controlling lighting, sound, temperature, opening and closing of blinds, and many other things.
