We are going to keep it local for this week’s item. It isn’t the first time that I featured products from Belgian design house Wildspirit based in Mariakerke/Gent (B). Todays item fits the time of year as it is called “Spring“.

The Spring tabouret is created by Dutch designer Erik Jansen. Erik Jansen studied interior architecture at the Utrecht School of Arts. His designs can be characterized as seemingly simple, sober and pure. Spring makes you think of the first signs of leaves on trees, flowers that are starting to show up etc.

Spring is made out of a bamboo strain, cut in a new way.

The last thing mentioned seems to be the idea behind the Spring stool. The mind could see a flower that is ready to blossom. Simple and elegant lines seem to attract your attention. An item that really fits into our category of “made me look”. This is how the manufacture describes it:

The Spring tabouret, has the shape of a beautiful flower and is made out of bamboo stripes that have been cut and bowed in a very special way. This nice experiment results in an extremely flexible and functional sitting pouf decorating your kitchen, lounge bar, living room,…

The Spring stool is a flower, made out of a bamboo strain, cut in a new way. It is a nice experience to be carried by this flexible and comfortable stool. When looking to the “Spring”, you always get an optimistic and sunny feeling.

Some mood pictures of the Spring tabouret

The first picture below is one that I took of Spring during the Interieur exhibition in Kortrijk.
