When you have a garden at home you must decide what to do with it. You can use it only for barbecues and so you place a nice outdoor bench and swing or you can arrange a small rose garden in a corner or you can use it as a small beach around the pool and so on. One of the most convenient and also beautiful solutions even for small gardens is to build a small rock garden like the one you can see in these pictures. Its not very difficult to design and build and it keeps its natural appearance, bringing a corner of the mountain view in your city garden.

You dont need too much space so, once you have decided about the position and size of the rock garden you can start building it.

When I heard about this tool, I knew I had to have one. As an organic gardener, I find it extremely hard to keep dandelions out of the lawn.

This week, Jenny over at J. Petersen Garden Design blew me away with her DIY projects. First, she showed us how to create a cinderblock wall that doesnt suck. Cinderblocks can look so stark and industrial if not softened by plantings, paint, or other embellishments of some kind. Here, Jenny shows us how to create a wall that houses succulents and candles and looks very chic and of the moment.

Then, Jenny showed us how to create a three-tiered planter. This would be a fun project for spring, as soon as a decent selection of adorable spillers arrives in for planting.
