Fresh And Modern House With Lots Of Color

This light modern house is located in Madrid, Spain. The house is built of concrete with the wood walls around to catch the sun and not to get hot sitting in the terrace. The interior is very stylish: modern furniture, simple colors, big windows. The colors of the curtains and furniture are various and bright to raise your mood. Stripes, light wooden furniture, plants make the space very dynamic. There’s a rustic touch and some furniture made of recycled materials. The art collection of the owners is very well framed. The terrace is right to the point and the poll with plants outside makes the place fresher and more relaxing. This fresh, dynamic space is full of color and is ready to raise the spirits of the owners after a hard day. <

Modern House In Warm Shades

This house is located in Los Angeles, CA. The project was created by architect Edward H. Fickett and realized by Hildebrandt Studio. The interior is open with a glass atrium and a pond. The interior is modern with a big fireplace wall made of rough stone. White limestone walls make a contrast with warm colors of two-sided fireplace and furniture. The furniture is modern and functional, in warm shades – brown, chocolate brown, brick-red, orange and beige. The coffee table in the living room made of a rough piece of wood is fantastic! It looks harmonious and gives a fresh look to the space. Big rough stones in the center of the house add some unusual touches to the space that otherwise would be traditional.

Swedish House Decorated With Natural Materials

This house is located to the south of Stockholm. It was built in the 60s and now it was rebuilt and the interiors were refreshed. The main color is white to widen the space as possible and to add lightness to the house; the interiors are modern and in some way minimalist. The materials used are mostly natural: wood, stone, leather. Classical Scandinavian interior was decorated with the very modern furniture: leather lounge chairs, bookshelves and mantelpieces. I like the bathroom: natural wood shelves in the combination with natural stone give a feeling of calmness and relaxation. The house leaves a lasting impression of an oasis of peace which nevertheless has everything you need.

Modern House numbers

I hate not knowing where I am going and asking all the people around the right address. That normally happens when you are in a new place where you dont know the people and the houses and also because you either dont know the address for sure or the houses do not have the numbers on them. And thats frustrating. Plus all the neighbours look at you as if you were a robber and so on. So lets make a pact and all of us use numbers on our homes. And since we do that, why dont we use some nice looking numbers, made of shiny polished metal that can be applied on all kinds of surfaces.

Movin’ on up to the East Side: 38th annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House

This week, we received the wonderful news that the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has found a home for 2010 and is underway. Normally presented in the spring, this year’s previously-secured property fell through because someone purchased the townhouse and wanted to move in right away, forcing the project to be postponed.

The new house marks the 38th year of the event and fundraiser, which garners about $1 million each year for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, and receives 20,000 visitors over a four-week period. The non-profit Boys & Girls Club serves more than 13,000 children by providing after-school and enrichment programs at 10 locations in the Bronx.
